Using Essential Oils to prevent Cold and Flu.

When a cold hits a household, it often goes through the family. That's why it's important to keep the air clean! The antibacterial and antiviral properties of essential oils are well known; diffuse Essential Oils throughout the house during the day for the sake of those who are well, as well as those who are ill. Diffusers require a small amount of water to which the oils are added. Generally use 5-9 drops of oil. Essential Oils that prevent Cold and Flu: Wild Oregano, Spruce Hemlock or Cedarwood Himalayan, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lavender, Peppermint, Tea Tree.

 

Chest and Sinus Congestion:

2 drops Lavender

2 drops Tea Tree

2 drops Eucalyptus

Boil a pot of water and remove from the stove. While still steaming, add 2 drops eucalyptus, 2 drops lavender and 2 drops tea tree. Cover bowl and head with towel and inhale for at least 3 minutes. KEEP EYES CLOSED. Or use the same amount for ultrasonic diffuser.

 

Colds:

2 drops Lavender

2 drops Rosemary

2 drops Eucalyptus

Place in a diffuser and diffuse into your room. Add 2 drops lavender, 2 drops rosemary and 2 drops eucalyptus to 2 teaspoons milk. Pour into a warm bath, stir water and soak.

 

To Ease Sinus Congestion:

2 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Peppermint

2 drops Tea Tree

Boil a pot of water and remove it from the stove. While it is still steaming, add 2 drops Peppermint, 2 drops Eucalyptus and 2 drops Tea Tree. Immediately cover the pot and head with a towel and inhale for 3 minutes. KEEP EYES CLOSED. Use the same amount for ultrasonic diffuser.

 

To Ease Coughs:

2 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Lavender

To Ease Coughs throughout the day:

2 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Lavender

Add 2 drops Eucalyptus and 2 drops Lavender to 4 teaspoons of our massage base oil (commonly used base oils: Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil) and apply to the throat and chest (this will make enough for several applications).

 

To Combat colds and flu - daytime:

2 drops Eucalyptus

2 drops Lavender

2 drops Peppermint

2 drops Tea Tree

Add 2 drops Eucalyptus, 2 drops Lavender, 2 drops Peppermint and 2 drops Tea Tree to a steaming bowl of water - let stand so that the steam diffuses into the room (or add same essential oils to an ultrasonic diffuser).

 

To Combat colds and flu - nighttime:

2 drops Lavender

2 drops Oregano Wild

Add 2 drops Lavender and 2 drops Oregano Wild to a steaming bowl of water or ultrasonic diffuser.

 

Allergy Treatment.

This combo is great for dealing with seasonal allergies.

2 drops Lavender Oil

2 drops Lemon Oil

2 drops Peppermint Oil

Use ultrasonic diffuser during the day. Apply small amount around your neck.

 

Cold Sore.

Essential Oils effective to treat Cold Sore: Tea Tree Oil, Cedarwood Himalayan, Spruce Hemlock. Apply Tea Tree on effected area and rub in gently. 1-2 hours latter apply Cedarwood Himalayan or Spruce Hemlock on effected area. This treatment can be repeated several times a day. Don't scratch effected area. When used early, may limit the spread of the cold sore infection.

 

Minor Burns and Cuts.

Immediately apply Lavender Essential Oil directly from bottle.

 

Headaches:

Essential oil and High blood pressure

Essential oils that can be beneficial for people suffering from hypertension:

Lavender

Add 9 drops of Lavender in ultrasonic diffuser. Massage 2 drops undiluted Lavender into the temples and the base of the skull.

 

Essential oil and Low blood pressure

Essential oils that can be beneficial for people suffering from hypertension:

Peppermint

Camphor White

Add 9 drops one of Peppermint or Camphor White oil in ultrasonic diffuser. Or mix the 6 drops of Peppermint essential oil into a few drops of base oil (commonly used base oils: Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil). Start at the back of your neck and massage up along your hairline all the way around until you reach the top / middle of your head.

 

Sports Rub:

6 drops Rosemary

4 drop Lavender

4 drop Eucalyptus

First, blend all the essential oils together, and then add to 8 teaspoons of massage oil base, use one of them (Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil). Stir gently to mix and apply to the body prior to exercise.

 

Post-Sports Rub:

6 drops Lavender

4 drop Cypress

4 drop Rosemary

Mix the essential oils together, then add to 8 teaspoons of massage oil base, use one of them (Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil). Stir gently to mix and apply to body.

 

Over-Exercised Muscles

5 drops Eucalyptus

5 drops Peppermint

5 drops Lavender

5 drops Lemongrass

Mix the essential oils together, dilute in 1 tablespoon of our massage oil base (use one of oils: Grapeseed Oil Coconut Oil, , Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil). Stir gently to mix and apply to body.

 

Insomnia

Insomnia Essential Oil Blend:

5 drop Lavender

2 drop Clary Sage

Mix 5 drops lavender and 2 drop clary sage with a teaspoon of milk. Add to a warm bath & soak. Or use ultrasonic diffuser with the same amount of oils.

 

To Calm Nerves and Promote Sleep:

4 drops Lavender

Add 4 drops Lavender to a teaspoon of milk. Pour into a warm bath, stir bathwater and soak. or

Add 4 drops Lavender to 4 teaspoons of our massage oil base (Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond (sweet) Oil, Oliver Oil), or add 6 drops of Lavender oil in ultrasonic diffuse in your room.

 

Prevent and Treat Insect Bites.

Use Lavender Oil full strength on mosquito, bee, and other insect bites to stop the itching or stings of them and to cut the risk of infection. Peppermint is a good repellant for mosquitos too. By spraying a mixture of Lavender oil and water on you, the mosquitoes will be repelled quite well for at least 2 hours.
